HOW IT WORKS

MOTS-c is produced inside mitochondria and translocates to the nucleus under metabolic stress, where it activates AMPK — the cell's central energy-sensing pathway. In animal studies, this translates to improved insulin sensitivity, resistance to diet-induced obesity, and exercise-mimetic effects on muscle metabolism. It's one of the few known signaling molecules that originates from mitochondrial, rather than nuclear, DNA.
